Gates Breeden graduated from Virginia Tech Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Architecture and Honors Laureate Diploma. He is the recipient of multiple awards and scholarships, most notably the College of Architecture and Urban Studies Outstanding Senior Award, given to one of 600 graduates for exceptional academic achievement, leadership, and service. Throughout college, Gates held a host of leadership positions, including President of his professional architecture fraternity, Student Representative to university governance commissions, and College Ambassador. As a young alumnus, Gates actively participates in Virginia Tech’s Architecture program as representative to the School of Architecture + Design’s Industry Advisory Board and through the student advocacy group “The Architecture Student Forum,” an organization he founded.

Gates joined DXA in the summer of 2021.
